There’s Snow Place Like Home for the Holidays

Whimsical, childlike, nostalgic…a holiday collection of old and not-so-old snow scenes…curated by a dear friend’s husband. Working for weeks on assembling the details down to the last dusting of snow, his series of tableaux are to be found throughout their home. Greeting you at the front door and continuing along the entry hall into the dining room to the kitchen, even to a window ledge in the mud room, the impression you are left with after viewing these miniature efforts is beautifully described in a Christmas card I received just last night. I hope you enjoy its sentiments as much as I do…

  1. The things we hold dear put magic in childhood and is lasting always.

  2. I began collecting old paper houses over 30 years ago. I use these houses to make small scenes, one on top of the other (with the assistance of a few pedestal stands) and add battery-operated colored lights around the houses, trees and snow. The village is stacked at various heights in the middle of our dining room table! We love it!
