Entertaining for the 4th of July

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

One of the many hats I’ve worn over the years is as a Contributing Editor to Bon Appetit, producing “Entertaining with Style.” Here, exactly twenty years later, is the first July 4th feature I did for the magazine; what a coincidence that Bristol, which is right over the bridge from Newport, hosts one of the oldest 4th of July parades in our country. Do make a point of attending it if you have a chance.

Follow along, get in the spirit and then pick out your favorites from this full sampling of Independence Day recipes. Take it from me…no one does recipes better than Bon Appetit!

Thank you, Wendy Hutzler and Carolyn Schmitz, for these great memories.

  1. Oh Bettie ! What fun to celebrate 4th of July by visiting Newport and Bristol on your website ! This feature really set me celebrating our Independence Day early. Private Newport is my favorite site …it is filled with such beauty, color and fun stories.

Thank you for sharing your exquisite eye for design and your heart for celebrating 🙂
