London in December

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Fa la la la la…before Christmas has passed, I couldn’t resist one more post on the glories of London in December! All around the town, festive scenes greeted us from the interiors of celebrated hotels (can you guess which areas are faux painted versus real fabric at the Lanesborogh?)…

to a private club’s much-discussed powder room.

In Belgravia, townhouse decorations brought spirit to this sequestered neighborhood.

Shops and eateries provided welcome distractions as we buzzed around on foot, whether in Knightsbridge…

with a quick stop in Harrod’s Food Hall for some bubbly sustenance…

or in the side streets and lanes of Sloane Square.

Speaking of…one of the shops in London’s famous arcades presented their “brand” in a most bespoke manner.

What would London be without brunch at Balthazar, “dressed to the nines” in red

as we headed to Covent Garden for a matinee performance. Oh! the shopping and Oh! the scenes.

And night brings out the bright lights that turn streets into studies in awe-inspiring design details (i.e. New Bond Street).

While a favorite tea spot looks as enchanting at night as it does during the day.

To my Private Newport family…From our Home to Yours. Have a glorious Holiday and a New Year filled with Peace and Exciting Possibilities.

  5. You always find the most beautiful and tasteful of decorated doorways and interiors. I am so delighted to see that tromp l’ oeil still reigns in London and I raise a glass of champagne to you and your eye for detail and beauty. Merry Christmas and love,
