There are Christmas trees… and then there are Christmas TREES. This magnificently simple holiday statement is always a perennial favorite… the 15’ poinsettia tree in the great hall of The Breakers, fronted with a gilt magnolia leaf roping… kept fresh by removing all individual pots each morning, watering them, and then reassembling. Scoot over to today’s blog and see more inspiring holiday decoration ideas from the Gilded Age! (Link in bio)

The Gilded Age itself is so elegantly created at the Preservation Society’s @newport_mansions which makes it difficult to choose the image for my next post. So… loving green (chartreuse and woodland) as I do, I’ve chosen the tree in the Marble House ballroom! You can see more trees in this past week’s blog which is linked in my bio.

Scoot over to the blog for a stroll through Marble House, home to Consuelo Vanderbilt, the 9th Duchess of Marlborough.
