A Newport Fall 2024

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It is Wednesday, November 20, the high temp will be 54 degrees today, and our long, very long Fall is still bright and enchanting. Newport is now in its seventh week of colors of the rainbow. Wow! every day I have one more reason to take a picture of the beauty that surrounds me. Living on this magical island has never been more special.

For you who can’t be here, I’m sharing snippets of what Fall 2024 looks like in my “City by the Sea…”starting with the Japanese maples that make such a Fall statement and always inspire some decorative accents around the house, as in the Feature image. I revel in the details…

From the front door

to the side door

to our first dinner by the fire (always much anticipated)!

And up and down the Avenue…

It’s amusing how our tastes in pumpkins changes over the years… from soft terra cotta to peach to this year when I’m enchanted with the greens…from celadon to deep forest green which coordinate so handsomely and become even more stunning in the juxtaposition.

Night fall at Parterre…the kind of light that happens at just this time of year when Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Did you notice that the pumpkin tableau is missing? The squirrels have eaten them all by now.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving prep and planning…the BIG day is only a week away.

  6. Please let readers know you only decorate with bittersweet indoors. Way too invasive to let the birds spread them outside. Everything looks beautiful
