Along with the daffodils and the tulips, the other gift I anticipate the most about spring is my trip to England. But this year, “circumstances” superseded that annual/semi-annual trip…though New Zealand provided an undeniably very special “change of scenery.”
Since time is coming up on the date in April when I would normally be “flying over the pond,” I’ve selected some of the memory-inspiring shots that I’ve taken over the past years of London and the countryside, in spring and December. And in London’s place, be watching your in-box for a blog on Garden Week in Virginia!

A beautiful way to wake up to such gorgeous photos. Almost as good as being there in person. Looking forward to seeing all from your Spring 2023 visit. Bon Voyage! EE
Bettie,
I am off to England in a few weeks. Could you spare the time to talk with me on the phone about gardens?

Bettie dear~My heart
doth leap at your memory – renewing
photos… one would have to be impervious
not to respond to the
Anglo beauty you have captured.. Just
shift through them and voila, you return to that blessed soil
for a visit…
Love England in May and I’ve been to many of these! What a lovely walk down memory lane. May I ask the name of the garden that has the bird topiaries going up the steps to what looks like a folly? I actually copied it into Chat GBT to find out and it gave me a lot of wrong gardens : (
Thank you for these majestic photos.
Truly a delight for me.
